HLT37215 – Cert III Pathology Collection
The Cert III in Pathology Collection includes 14 units and 35 hours of work Placement.
The course is based on blended learning and combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on training using first-class simulation equipment and realistic, in-depth scenarios to help students’ skills and knowledge grow to their fullest potential.

BSBCUS201– Deliver a service to customers
BSBMED301– Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately
HLTINF006– Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
HLTPAT001 – Identify and respond to clinical risks in pathology collection
HLTPAT002– Perform venous blood collection
HLTPAT004 – Collect pathology specimens other than blood

BSBPEF202– Plan and apply time management
BSBTWK201– Work effectively with others
HLTAAP001 – Recognise healthy body systems
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid & (Optional: HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR))
HLTPAT006 – Receive, prepare and dispatch pathology specimens
COMPULSORY VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT
Students are required to undertake an unpaid work placement for 35 hours, completed over approximately 1-2 weeks.
Vocational Placement is organised by Riversource Training.
